97 esprit purchase

interested in a 97 esprit with 20,000 miles

being sold by a dealer for $50,000 US - one prior owner- car has all records

does this sound fair considering what may be high mileage?

please help - have been wanting a lotus for a long time and need reassurance on price

This shows a list of cars from 1998 to 2002 models both new and used along withe asking prices. They have a couple 1998 models which are a better deal than the 1997, IMHO.

I'm looking for a 2000 V8. I'm curious about your experience.
How has yours held up? Any maintenance problems?

So far, I'm very happy with my 2000 V8. I bought it new hence full warranty. I had a few glitchy things early on... A/C compressor O-ring went leaky, Exhaust taipipe cracked and started to rattle... both fixed under warranty. Nothing major has happened and I now have over 6000 miles and it runs great. From 2000 on the car is exceptionally well sorted/appointed and would appear to be quite reliable. Good luck finding a suitable car.
