GT racing at Castle Coombe needs your help!!

Motor Sport News reports this week that Castle Coombe
boss Howard Strawford needs help with his fight against a noise abatment order served on the circuit
which will effect GT racing in June.

The article suggests that letters to lobby Bob Marshall, Chief Executive of North Wiltshire District
Council,Monkton Park ,Chippenham,Wiltshire SN15 1ER
might help.

GT cars sound like no other!
Do they really need to make them sound like milk floats?
A couple of weekends per year of slightly higher engine sounds, is that really so unreasonable?

Bet they don't mind when thousands of people buy stuff in the local pub, petrol station etc.

Actually they do mind. They don't like race traffic in their village.

Funny old game - its usually the people who have most recently moved close to a race circuit who complain the most about it.

as a regular racer at Coombe, they do mind, dont ask me why, but they always have, that track employs most of of its staff and the youngsters from the surrounding villages and brings an inordinate amount of money to the locality, and to charity, each meeting has its own charity, Howard has been battling for years with the locals, pi55ed them right off a few years ago with the Boss F1 championship, i think he slipped it through and they have been out to get him ever since !!

Not sure about that, he always had the proper planning for the events that he holds, not sure that he embellished the fact that it would be F1 cars, it was an unlimited Db event that was planned.
