Took the car out for a spin and got caught in a shower... turned on wipers to intermittent mode and the blades kept parking at various angles but not in the correct one.

Has this happened to anyone else ?
How do you fix it ?

All help much appreciated

I think this is the 'park switch', which suffers from corroded contacts or may pack up altogether - a common fault in Griffs at least.

It is usually a sign the park switch is on its way out. You could try a bit of WD40 thought. If memory serves me right, it is under the bonnet in front of the passenger side windscreen.

In theory yes! In practice £23.13 + £10 fitting at Offord.

(plus VAT)

Mine cost about £15 from Lucas and I even managed to fit it myself! (The day before I left for the Nurburgring, where it rained all weekend, so it was a good investment :-)

BTW
One of the pro's of living in Jersey - no VAT

One of the cons - 40mph speed limit (and drops to 15mph in some lanes!)

'and drops to 15mph in some lanes!'

Dangerously high if you ask me. Just think what would happen if you hit a cute young child at 15mph, you maniac!

Took off the park switch and it was completely corroded. Cleaned all the contacts up and sprayed grease on them. Re assmenbled and everything is back to normal..

Thanks all for your help... until the next failure..

Surely another one is that its the most dangerous island on Earth. Every bloody week in the 80's there was a diamond heist or a international drug smuggling bust or insider trading etc etc.

Yeah, but that was all to wind Jim B. up, since he retired from the force it's quietened down a bit, now they throw all their energies into catching my 4.3!
