Would like to say how great the Lotus Instructors were, it was a pity that Rockingham doubled the participant/instructor ratio (8-1). The passenger lap I had with Alistair McQueen (Lotus Chief Test Driver) was phenomenal and just proves what a great car the Elise is, and more importantly how important driver training is rather than horsepower upgrades.

Rockingham need to make substantial organisational improvements if the Lotus experience is to live up to its previous reputation when it was held at Hethel (From previous postings it was very well recieved).

Hi, i have had a reply from TJHRE and they are offerring another day, massively changed and free for those that attended on the 17th of July.

Having spoken to duncan V the director at Rockingham he assures me it will be pitched above the basic day and between the level 2 day to incorporate the driving challenge, Mark.

Yeah also spoken to Duncan Vercoe, unforunately am on holiday in Sep but will go to the October date (fingers crossed for decent weather) . I was also told there would be a '3-1 instructor ratio' ... should be a massive improvement.

Does this mean that the Track Handling Days at Hethel have finished?

I spoke with Lotus on Thursday and they advised that they have now finished the Level 2 skills and only offer 1-2-1 coaching through Alistair McQueen (?) at an appropriate cost, sorry i cannot remember how much. What i would say is that they still use their cars but ensure you spend time on learning the aspects of driving you wish to improve, instead of doing elements of a course you already are confident in, i.e. emergency avoidance breaking etc.

So in final closing yes the Skills 1 now runs out of rockingham and the skills 2 is no more, but more focused and tailored.

Trust this helps, Mark.

Mark

Thanks for the info, having just moved to Suffolk (and relogged on as Felix7 - the joys of broadband) and hence nearer to Hethel would have obviously preferred Hethel. Have looked up 1st Lotus too not sure if anyone has given any feedback on them within PH.

What does the Level 1 day now consist of?

Thanks

PTC, yes Mark from Sinclaire's in Romford really rates 1st Lotus and there are loads of positive feedback on the sites, so yes i am up for it.

Send me a mail and we can discuss dates etc. It would have to be towards the end of Sept. as my car will not be ready until then (having bits and pieces done to it), Mark.
