This has appeared twice on an American Maserati forum, and he hasn't had a single reply. Wondered if anyone here had heard of the problem?

"Purchased a new 04 Maserati Spyder Cambiocorsa convertible in Jan. 04...a great car. However, there is an annoying buzz heard on AM radio, {not on FM}. It is heard only when stopped and with my foot on the brake. The buzz disappears when I take my foot off of the brake, and the hillholder has dropped out. The dealer has replaced the hillholder motor assembly... but no help. Any ideas?"

Thanks Bodo - I'll pass that on. He could find out by simply disconnecting the brake lights.

Alot of US Maserati owners complain about all elements of Radio reception, especially AM - they use a slightly different tuning pattern and frequency range in the states so perhaps it is a "poor" conversion by the Maserati Head unit.

Certainly the UK unit in my car gives great FM and AM reception.

Sounds like Bodo is in the ballpark, how about checking the routing of the aerial cable, maybe it is running close to something that interferes with reception, maybe a relay or sensor or something similar?

Thanks guys. I'll pass that on.

This can be such a minefield on any car - often for incredibly obscure but simple reasons.

Why?

Er, well it reminds me I'm still alive - need reminding thanks to the National Nospeed Habit.

Seriously though the question wasn't mine - just trying to answer a query from someone else.

And a Happy New Year to you too!
