Weather looking great up here this weekend - am driving up to Hartlepool, Amble and Blyth on Saturday, and wanting to do some nice roads on Sunday. Some great runs around the moors leading to Skipton - Grassington - Harrogate and then to Leeds.

Anyone interested in a drive anywhere!?

I shall be out and about in the 348, mostly accompanied by an absolutely gorgeous young blue eyed blonde

Yep, Vic's sodded off to the States for 4 days so me and Gabby shall be taking full advantage

In fact one item on the agenda may well be the Yorkshire Motor Museum in Batley then fish & chips at the Mermaid in Morley!

Tell you what, that would make a SUPERB end destination after a run - great food, big carpark, and all glass fronted restaurant.... might cause a bit of a stir in morley

It was indeed a good day for a run, nice and sunny in east yorks... even nearly got pulled by a traffic car for, well, I presume it would have been "driving a brightly coloured, slightly noisy car", I think

I pulled out of a layby just before the roundabout at Howden and went up through 1st and 2nd, got to the roundabout and saw a nice shiny white Volvo parked up, ease off the gas, gently round the roundabout and up the 1/2 mile of dual carriageway to the motorway slip road, glance in the mirror and... what a surprise, a white Volvo following up at a distance. On to the motorway, settled at a steady 70, traffic car maintaining a 100 yard gap, undoubtedly doing a plate check, then cruises alongside and.... spots my secret weapon The Gabster, kicking her legs about and waving her Tweety Pie handbag in the air Threat immediately anulled by 21 month old daughter and traffic car cruises off and pulls into the hard shoulder further up the road.

Now call me cynical, but I'm prepared to bet that I would have been pulled over, if for nothing more than a curious check, had it not been for Gabby being in the car.

Mind you, having said that, on a sunny day and if i haven't been making any serious progress, or I'm not late for anything, i generally don't mind the police taking an interest - having a chat and getting to know your local force is usually not such a bad idea really.
