www.wrc.com

Anyone looked at this?

It sucks. And now they also want money to listen to Rally Radio!

Last years site was really slick - this looks like something an A-Level HTML programmer would put together - half of the menu items lead to pages with no content!

As someone on the inside just said to me "I think it's called 'progress'"

Pah - still, I guess someone made a bundle doing it.

Err, perhaps some of the content sections are empty because the new season has only just got underway and there's nothing to put on there yet?

Just a thought!

Surely there will be enough on the site in the free area.

There are no popup ads etc, so they have to cover their costs somehow. Give it a chance, we are only on day 1 of the new season.

And what pillock decided that dark grey small font would be a good idea on a black background? Infact why the black background!!!!

Jeez 1st thing you learn about Human Computer Interaction is that some people have dodgy eyesight so background and information should be high contrast...gerrr

I've yet to find the equivalent of Rally Dashboard or whatever it was they called it. It's supposed to be part of the subscription stuff which I may well just have until the 13th day at this rate!

And while I'm at it, where have the forums gone? I guess Dave didn't like the feedback he got when they canned the free rally radio last year!

And wow! the webcam is...is...erm...underwhelming in the extreme, who wants to look at a service park anyway?, espeically what looks like tucked away behind the tyre vans! they are the most boring places on the planet, a place to do sums, keep a leash on the driver and let your adrenaline go stale. (Sorry to those of you that find them interesting, but I guess if you're a WRC bod then you get a better quality of carpark )

Anyone had the bottle to chuck 40 folding beer tokens at the WRC+ saubscription offer?

Given the quality of the general web site I'm not convinced it would be worth it. Maybe though they've been putting all their effort int othe multimedia side of things, who knows?

I made a lot of noise last year amongst the crew that they needed to sort their act out on the web site and get all the in car footage avalable for download from the website. Seems someone heard me.

This has got to be one of the most exciting forms of motorpsort on the planet and I constantly feel the production teams are missing out on that and falling flat on their faces in delivering the enthralling content that they posess.

If I wasn't so broke after xmas I might go for it and see if they're upto scratch.

As mentioned, I registered for the 14 day free trial, which means I get to try before I commit to spending on the subscription. Anyway, there is quite a bit of extra stuff (including in-car stuff) although I still can't find the rally dashboard. I probably will stump up for a subscription because I like Rally Radio and can listen to it whilst I work. I can't afford to spectate on any WRC events except the 12 car round Cardiff (although I guess I could if I wasn't planning to do 14 or so rallies myself this year, National B Regional and National, not BRC or WRC). They really do seem to be missing out on the opportunities to promote WRC (and the sport in general) via the Internet. but I guess it's getting better, last year was depressing without rally radio (just as I had got ADSL too!)

Obviously the trial isn't as good without a rally being current, but it's worth a snoop even if you cancel before it's time to pay!

Still better get back to replacing the struts on the Scooby before it's time for the ITV coverage of the Monte down the pub!
