So the Chimaera went in to have the diff bearings changed ... turns out the diff gears are knackered and burned out and Thames Valley Racetech are sending it away to be rebuilt ... I'm awaiting a quesstimate for cost of this work.

Anyone got any ideas how much this is going to cost me? I'm guessing around 1,000 pounds???

Time to save up I think ....

I always thought about a Quaife ATB diff in the event of mine packing up. I haven't got around to contacting them, but they may do a competitive replacement.

Competitive but different. An ATB differential is NOT a Limited Slip Diff - it still allows the inside wheel to spin by up to 60%.

A properly set up locking clucth based LSD will always be better, especially in a powerful car like a Chimaera.

£600 quid ish, plus their profit margin, plus labour. Probably not much change out of a grand.
