not heard one Brian - but my vote would be do it - never heard a tubi I didn't like yet! (As long as you don't want to go on track anywhere with a noise limit below 150bd, and you have no neighbours )

I'm with you.
My decat 348 was far superior to my current set up.

I believe there are issues with sensors or something that has put me off doing it for now.

I need to discuss with Carl the implications of doing it,but if its feasible,I'll definitely do it.

He mentioned some warning light would come on periodically as a result of removing the cats, which I'm not happy with. But there must be a way to avoid this.

I'd better do a bit more research, its definitely not the no brainer it is with a 348.

I use Verdi too. Mine's due for a service soon so may look into then. I'm sure there's a way or Manu wouldn't have suggested it to me...

I asked Graypaul to do this for me, and while they said they would do it if I demanded it, they strongly recommended against it. They would happily fit any backbox I wanted, but they gave reasons that at the time made sense to me.. but I forget what they are now.. something like bore-washing or something..

As cars with this conversion done, are getting older, they're starting to develop problems..

Like I said could all be bishop.. but that's the word

I had my tubi'd 360 decatted - made an awesome noise and popped really well on the over-run. A couple of people even said they'd seen flashes from the exhaust in the dark - I thought it was well worth while!

where did you get it done in Charlie?

Is there anything unusual that had to be done or is it just a straightforward 'removal'

cheers

I had Westover down in Bournemouth do it - they got the de-cat pipes from Scuderia Systems. They had said that the engine management light may be activated because of the Lambda sensors, but in my case this never happened - ran fine.

Charlie,

Exactly how loud was it compared to just the standard tubi back box? Is touring possible without ear damage

Beesti,

Haven't for a while... he's keeping a low profile I reckon the big girl

I just wondered what a de-catted 360 sounded like.. like the idea of popping and flames

Re. the decat.

I'd definitely get someone's first hand opinion on driving it long distances. You don't want to get to Denmark or LeMans and be deaf for the rest of the weekend. I guess that would mean you wouldn't hear chavman's comments... but still its a consideration.

Your 360 sounds nigh on perfect... don't spoil it.

I would say that it's actually not that much noisier in the drivers seat with the windows closed - so I would say that long journeys wouldn't pose a particular problem, I drove mine to Le Mans without any undue discomfort - however I was frequently told by my neighbours that it was rather noisey. If you do track days though it obviously becomes an issue - I had to have some motorbike baffle things made up stuffed with wire wool to get passed the noise police - which I still have (sold the car!)
