I have heard that a restricted number of Prosport 3000's will be allowed in the 2005 British GT championship. They are a bit down on power compared to a few of the other cars out there but with the cup class power to weight rules they should be on par with the other cars. I hope that there will be a few more of these great cars competing again soon. It would be good to see the car that Bintec raced last year back in the championship, I see that it is still for sale.

I am interested in hearing from any other like minded Prosport 3000 GT fans out there.

I heard that one or two guys were hoping to run in British GT with Prosports not sure how they will do.

Just like to thank the bintec team for all there time and free access to the car for pictures in the pit garage and all questions answered at mondello 2004 and how unlucky they where not to get going again after unfortunate mondello crash.

Hi Andrew

You are more than welcome anytime. It does not look likely that the Car will be racing under the Bintec banner again this year but we will see what happens.

Mondello was a shame as we quallified well, thats motor racing as they say.

There must a few still around i seen john barnards is up for sale,he used in the castle combe gt championship.
Still they great sounding cars too.
Does anyone know if dave brunsdon still has his?

I have a little Prosport history...

Ran cars in the series for DFH Engineering in '96/'97/'98, during and just after my university placement year. Chris Lord, Nigel James, Martin Harrison, Jake Ulrich and John Barnard were the drivers, though John's (ex-Bletsoe-Brown) car was largely looked after by himself and only ran at Combe.

They were great and I'd love to get Eclipse to run one in the Cup class - even though I still don't believe they really should be allowed in... Cracking little car. There's another Prosport thread in either the GT section or the General Motorsport area which I contributed quite a bit to, if that's any use.

(Graham, if you read this, yes I will really write that article, but Mosler and Sebring bits are taking up my time at the moment - oh and the day job...)

Not sure if Dave Brunsden still has his, he moved on to concentrate on his own car. I think the last one he ran was for Howard Spooner who then moved onto Palmer Audi.

Ahonen, good to hear from you on this subject. We met last year at British GT, I was managing / mechanicing for the Bintec Prosport Team. We were hoping to be out again this year but that has fallen to the wayside, shame. Hope all goes well with the change to a Mosler.

has anyone got some good static pics of the prosports i was googling the other day but couldnt find much...

I have some pretty good static pics I can email you.

As far as engines are concerned a number hjave been conversted to run different engines such I beleive that there is one running a Ferrari engine in the Group C GTP championship. The Prosport originally ran a modified Ford Cosworth FBA 24V V6 which was known as an FBE. The originals ran with rubber crank and rods 2.9ltr (i.e. std road going Ford Cosworth 24V V6 items), they later ran the same engine with steel crank and rods these were almost 3.1ltr I beleive.

Ah, it is you... Thanks for your words on the Mosler - it's a damn fine car and we're all itching to start testing. Should fire up this week.

What happened to you fellows after Mondello? You qualified well, then had a shunt in the race before disappearing for the rest of the year. The damage didn't look that bad to me.

Oh and you're right about the engines, by the way.

Ah yes Mondello, A big shame as we qualified well and were running in a good position. As you say the damage wasn't that bad but it did trash the exhaust system, trash the rear suspension and wheels, crack the gearbox, Rear wing & upright etc etc. This would not have been too bad and we could have easily got it fixed before the next meeting. The trouble is that money became a problem for one reason or another which meant we were not financially up and running again until the end or the season so we decided to concentrate on going to Baharain for the festival at the end of the season, was hoping to see you guys there.
