In each door sil - looks like air an intake. Both mine are fully restricted though - so no flow. What are these for ?

I think its just a breather, I cant be bothered going out into the snow to make sure i'm talking about the right thing but running right behind the whole length is a wiring loom on both sides that continues over the wheel arches. As long as the big one on nearside of the engine bay is clear you're laughing

Black teardrop shaped thing? Completly covered by the door when shut? Keeps moisture out of the panels behind it as far as I can tell.

finally remembered to take the photo :



same in both doorsills - both look like they * should * be vents (and in fact could by as can be easily opened up) both but covered to stop any airflow.

Yep, if you undo the two screws on the panel on the other side you will be presented with a hollow down which wires pass. I gather more open versions of these vents may be available for countried that are not quite as moist as the UK. For a more definitive answer have you thought of asking over at imoc.co.uk?
