Ok, new wheel and handbrake lever wanted.

Went to the Max muppet section of Halfords and chose new Momo wheel. Haven't got a clue about which "boss kit" i need though. My current wheel has 9 allen key bolts to attach it to the boss. Does this mean I have to buy a new boss as well as the wheel (and spend a fecking fortune!) ??

Basically I don't know what I am doing as per usual!

And the handbrake levers (want a brushed alloy one to match gearstick) - are the level tech brushed or polished alloy? How much and how do they fit on? Would somebody as inept as me be able to manage it?

Any advice appreciated!

schnozz,

you will need a Momo boss. The steeing wheel will have a certain number of screw fittings in a certain pattern and you will need a boss that matches that. This is unless you can use the existing one....which I doubt by the sound of it.

Leven and Zertec both do ally handbrake handles. I have a Leven one fitted to mine. They are simple to fit and come with instructions and the necessary tool (alan key). All I did differently from the instructions was to wrap some tape around the bare brake level to increase its diameter to get a more snug fit.

Cheers

Mark
PS - Did you not try any of the breakers to see whether they'd sell you a steering wheel ??

Mark,

Breakers? Do you have any contact details/locations? Sounds like a good way to get a few bits and pieces!

Cheers

Think the column is a MK4 escort job.For the wheel, give Burtons at Ilford a bell and if you have a model number, they can sort it out and a boss.(they might be able to confirm it as well)I got a very nice black Suede steering wheel from then and specified that I didnt want to pay Demon Tweeks prices and they let me have it sh!t loads cheaper.
