Hi again,

This bitsa mini of my sisters is fitted with 12" Revolution alloys which stand proud of the standard type wheel arch spats, managed to grind off the lock nuts (bought with no key!)and found 25mm spacers. Car is front disc equipped, refitted the wheels temporarily to check clearance and all seemed ok lock to lock so have recommended she ditch the spacers and get shorter studs and new tube nuts to make it legal and reduce bearing loads, was this the right advice?

Also, the carb had been replaced with a webber(as previous post)with hacked bulkhead, subsequently the classic mini large speedo had been installed in a home made dash panel, but you've probably guessed it, no cable. She has aquired a new cable but it will likely be too short, can you still get extention cables like I remeber from years ago ?,if so where please.

Thanks in advance.
Steve

Removing the spacers will certainly reduce the load on the running gear. People tend to do it for aesthetics as much as anything. Although you will certainly need spacers on the rear if the drums are the old non-spacer type.

You can get extra-long speedo cables, I got one from Somerford Mini 01249 721421 or www.somerford-mini.co.uk
