Anyone ever tried Grass track racing... It was bloody great.. First race was last sunday.. SOme of the cars there were mental... V8 powered Metros, Twin motor bike engine fiestas...even a v8 Skoda.... Mental stuff..

How do'you get into it ??

The idea of ragging a mid-engined V8 go-kart round a field is quite appealling

And how much does it cost ?

Me and a mate had been talking about doing some kind of Motor Sport for years.. but as usual only talked about it, didn't do anything about it.. until we went to Silverstone for the GP. On the way up we notice a number of cars on trailers and wondered what they were up to. Saw one of them had a N.A.S.A logo. Which we found out was the National Auto Grass Association. Went on their web site, spoke to the regional head for my area..we told me of a car and trailer for sale.. bought it for £600.. spent some money sorting the car out ready for the race, paid for a NASA licience (£30 for the rest of the season) paid £7 on the day and got 4 races.
There are 10 different car classes, from Class 1 Minis, to Class 10 single seat motor bike engine buggy things. So how much you want to spend doind it would be up to you. Some peeple change MK3 escorts into rear wheel drives, some stick 2 lite Vauxall Engines into the boot of a metro.. Anything goes. If you want any more info go on the N.A.S.A web site.
