Hi all,

Went searching for the 'next car' yesterday with one eye on the new AM V8Vantage, then discovered 4 yr waiting list. Popped into Brooklands and looked at Maserati before spotting a rather luverly 360 Modena looking very affordable. They qouted me around £700 for a service & £550 for cambelts for an idea around servicing costs.

Hadn't considered one simply because I thought servicing costs would be way out of reach. But No!! On the basis of 12K or 12 mnth services, it would be cheaper than my Noble.

Question is for me, what would it be like to live with daily? I tend to cover about 10k miles a year around the roads of N.Yorks. I use the Noble daily so comfort/practicality is less important than fun/smiles.

Other motors I've looked at are DB7GT & Maserati Gransport.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Blot

If you’re gonna use this as an everyday car then please budget for more.

I’ve done approx 12K since last April in mine and I am advising you to go into this with an open wallet or to at least budget for a lot more than you think.

Also depends on F1 or Manual and age of car.

Sorry I can’t be more helpful right now, rushed post cos I’ve got a glass waiting for me round the corner ….I’ll add to this over the weekend.

Oh and you’ll have no probs using this motor regularly.

Cheers,

It'd be manual probably 99/00 registered, the one I was falling for was 2000 & had belts done in 03 so due again in 06.

Fuel costs don't worry me so much, the noble is my most economical car, as long as double figures is realistic mpg, 15+ would be good

What other costs should I budget for? Tyres on the Noble seem to last 10k miles max (potenza SO3's) and about a litre of shells finest oil every 3k miles or so

Anywhere other than JCT to look/ offer servicing? I live in N.Yorks so Leeds ain't too bad, Newcastle is only an hour tho so could go North....

All advice gladly received, including, don't buy one there rubbish!!!!!

10k miles/year on a 360 will be fine for the car. It's also a very easy car in traffic, I've spent quite a bit of time in one in central London and the engine doesn't seem to complain.

Like T said, you WILL drive it more than you expect and it will probably cost you more than you expect so be prepared. Little things like new discs and pads cost a bomb. Ferrari parts are anything but cheap.

Give Karl at Verdis a call if you're interested in example running costs and speak to BigT and Bebbesen - two PHers who do high miles in their 360s

If you're used to a Noble daily driver, the 360 would be a fine replacement!

How many miles has it done and how much is it?

You will likely get royally caned at selling time putting 10k-12k miles on it each year, with a new model just about to drop and plenty of 360s on the market.

But if you can ignore this aspect (or the car is cheap enough/light enough on current miles), go for it. I doubt you'll regret it

You're doing me no favours you lot are you!! Was sure it would be totally impractical and far too expensive..

Cars I looked at had around 7-8k miles on the clock and were just under 80k with 12 mnth warranty.

Thanks for all the replies

Might just be Easter shopping....

Very nearly funny!

Poster asked about the 360, a car a few mates own, so i know quite a bit about them. I've travelled in them through the centre of London, a very tough test for a supercar and a test that proves whether a car will be suitable for daily driving.
Sure, I'm yet to drive one in anger, but i know if the cabin gets hot, if the exhaust is too loud for prolonged use of the car, whether the width makes parking hard, whether its comfortable for more than an hour in the seat. From discussions I know the rough running costs, what goes wrong, whether its reliable.
If he was asking whats it like at opposite lock through Copse then I wouldn't have posted. But as I have knowledge about these cars and am happy to share it, I believe the above shows I have sufficient experience to do so.
