Discussion
I assume GMan is the one that broke the 0-100-0 record, and his 640+bhp was used in the process.
Is GMan's GTR in any way "tuned" to achieve the numbers that it achieved, or is it more or less stock? Of course with a strong 640+bhp V8, and a set of "big brakes".
Are there any other "optimizations" done to his car, or would basically any GTR owner be able to do about the same with his/her own GTR?
I'm asking because I'm interested in the GTR (or a used Sports), and while it is great to read about the record and performance of the car that broke the record, I don't know if it is realistic to expect the same performance from a stock GTR (or Sports)? Obviously the "stock" should also have a powerful V8 with about 640bhp and a set of big brakes... My decision about getting an Ultima is in a big way driven by the record achievement and I just don't want to be disappointed by finding out later that the car used was a "special version"...
Thanks !

My car was the record breaking car ...
It uses all factory parts from Ultima, and a factory spec engine from American Speed
There was no "tuning" of the car, it was driven to the test track and driven back.
If you had a 640bhp Ultima, with the factory AP racing brakes, you will do the same times

The first part of the official information answers your question...
"All of the times were set by a standard, factory built, fully road legal, road tyred Ultima GTR built using all of the high spec factory specified and proven parts. The car was even equipped with heavy luxuries such as air conditioning but no traction control devices; launch control systems or ABS braking aids were used. The car was fitted with its recommended Porsche G50 5 speed transaxle and normally aspirated 640BHP 377ci Chevrolet V8 engine which is a standard offering by the factory from its official engine suppliers American Speed."

Or get a bigger engine and go faster still.
Sorry Gareth but someone will do it to you one day.
