RE: ronbra's Porsche 911 3.3 turbo (930)
Discussion
Thats a lovely car am a huge 911 fan, your car has a different kkk turbo, intercooler and higher lift cams, giving it the extra 30 hp over the standard turbo, however you have paid way way too much for it ! check Marchs 911&porscheworld mag, they have a story on one bought from a dealer with full service history and only 42000 mls at £26995. ouch. Its still a wonderfull car. i know you'll be totally sick, but if you hold onto it for long enough, i'm sure the enjoyment you get will outweigh the huge financial loss.

for the negative commenters, check the mag, or contact, prestige and performance cars (911virgin.com) who sold it first ! Maybe the guy duped the highly experienced owner (and 911 racer). but the school holidays guy, i must apologise to, he obviously knows a lot about cars and didnt just join this site, cos he wanted to beat off over a ferrari !
What a most peculiar thread, not entirely sure what it`s all about. That said we did indeed sell a factory flatnose turbo to a lovely chap called Talbir as featured in March`s 911 & Porsche World.
We knew exactly what the car was. They are a hard car to value, you can pretty much ask whatever you want for one. That said we are in the business of selling cars not storing the so it was priced to sell, and sell it did.
There were actually a reasonable number of factory flatnoses produced, they were built from around 1984 to `89 and were most popular in the US market. Initially they were special order through the factory restoration and special projects workshop, then in (I think), 1986 it became a standard option through dealers in the normal manner.
How much are they worth today ? Well as with all cars pretty much whatever someone is prepared to pay, I`m not sure they are worth tens of thousands over an equivalent standard 930 but a bit more to cover their "interest value". Certainly I think a 993 turbo 4 would be considered a better buy for circa £40k. Probably they are worth the same money as a nice Turbo 2.
Hope that sheds some light.

Why would an ordinary 993 go up £3,000 in value in 9 months???
