993 alternator, new one reqd, cheap ???

my 993 let me down today, when the alternator diode packed in. nursed it home after a jump start, my pals 3.2 carrera did the same a month ago and it cost £375 to replace. Anybody know where i could source a new or recond. one, for a good price that i could then have my man fit ? (i only drive them and brake them!!!) i will have arranged a repair on monday the 21st mach, as needs must! would really like some help >?
