Does anyone have any handy hints for changing a rear wheel bearing on my '89 mini? It seems I can get one off t'internet for around a tenner.

Just having a few more teething troubles.

use a new split pin. .

old bearing should just pull out without the need for a puller and dont forget to re-adjust your brakes after.

dont forget that the rear bearing on your car should be a taper type rather than the earlier (and now n/l/a) ball type.

10 does seem cheap for a bearing?

I did my front n/s about a month ago, you'd be better of checking that its a taper bearing. Just remember to clean out the hub when the bearings are out. Give it a good clean inside and get rid of all grease and such like. You should get grease packets in the bearing kit, so grease the new bearing before they go in. Take time to drift them in straight and don't try and hammer them in hard.

Even if you do take your time you can have it done in e few hours.
