Lovely car OP.

Very relaxed attitude too, a full engine rebuild is a bitter pill to swallow on a car you've only just bought. I'm always in the camp of if I have to spend money fixing a car, spend a bit more and make it better so you feel you've had some benefit from cash spent which you clearly are too.

Best of luck and keep us updated.

Absolutely gorgeous example (apart from the issues!) Bad luck with those, but looked after properly this will be an absolute peach of a classic.

It's mega annoying that Photobucket have dropped third party image hosting! And I'm not paying $400 to get it back!

So I had some issues with the Evo, thankfully all now sorted and collecting her tomorrow. I'd noticed that ever since Silverstone the car wasn't boosting quite to the 1.9bar it was mapped for - more like 1.5/1.6. I didn't think much of it as the car still felt ballistic... But then 3 weeks ago whilst having a quick play with a Porsche 991 the turbo let go... Big style! Cue a large amount of smoke and zero boost. Excellent!

Thankfully the turbo is under warranty so it has been repaired and is now back on the car. Fingers crossed this is just an anomaly and not going to become a regular thing, as the turbo had only done 2k, 1k of which was running in mileage!

Here is one from just before the turbo let go.
