I'm just weighing up the options for my new Focus, which is due for delivery in a month or so. I've seen plenty of examples of how poor the factory finish can be, so I'm considering taking it to a detailer. One I've spoken to estimates that the cost may be between £900 with top of the range protection and no correction required to £1500 including correction.

I appreciate the amount of work that goes in to this, but I'm not sure I can justify it. Does anyone have any experience with this?

I'm sure some members may encourage me to buy the kit for much less and have a go myself, but that's definitely not happening.

That is an awful lot of money.

Where have you gone for quotes?

On a new Focus I would be looking at around £350 for correction and decent wax/sealant or around £550 with a ceramic coating.

As above where are you based? and yes that sounds costly.

Our new car prep on a Focus sized car would be £500 including Gtechniq coating + the usual upgrades for wheels, glass, fabric, leather protection.

cheers

Chris

Thanks for the replies. I'm based in Sussex, happy to travel within the south east. The quote was from a respected detailer that gets a fair bit of coverage on social media.
