binding brakes

After an emergency stop today, the car seems to be labouring against brakes stuck on somewhere, they dont' appear to be create heat on a wheel to the touch after a drive, or make a binding sound.
handbrake appears to operate ok, although car holds on a slight incline without it now, fluid seems ok to.

Have tried backing it up with handbrake on a bit, but foot pedal appears to have a little less travel than normal as well
any ideas

Try pulling the handbrake up while doing about 10 mph. I am sure its one of your rear shoes stuck somewhere.

tried backing up slowly and pulling on handbrake yesterday, as i semm to remember, that shoes can move a bit out of whack by themselves sometimes,
try the trick forwards this time
