....so do I - first real test will be the Bentley straight, closely followed by the Start/Finish straight.
For reference, my NA 5 litre speeds were 130ish and 125ish respectively.
Sadly I cannot do the 2nd October one listed elsewhere - client commitments.
Hey some real data at speed on a real track. For reference, my NA 5 litre speeds were 130ish and 125ish respectively.

Do check your brakes are in tip top nick but I know you know that already
Harsh track on the engine though.
So who's taking bets on the new speeds Anthony can attain.
He won't be able to look to tell us is my best guess
145 mph. Brake early)
Goodluck and ENJOY
Thanks Alun. I knew there was a reason nothing was booked in my diary track-day-wise.
My brakes need a refresh, to put it mildly. Front disks, rear pads, and of course that means front pads too.....
......I do still have the CL pads that helped boil my brake fluid at Hullavington at 120 mph. Glad for once to be on an airfield that day, as I managed to spin to a halt with no brakes without leaving the runway. Probably won't use them.......

I remember that day too, you spin me right round baby, right round. My brakes need a refresh, to put it mildly. Front disks, rear pads, and of course that means front pads too.....

Your in the big league now more than ever and those brakes need to become close to your heart. So easy to change pads on these so either get them changed now especially if new discs to get miles into them or they might play up,, fade.
Get them really cutting now or they might glaze up and be useless when really hot. Get the blend of pad material embedded into the discs so they bond on contact at slower speeds so they actually work when going really really fast and let's be honest your going to be going really really fast before the bridge. serious stuff.
I've noticed proper race pads attack the discs and don't interact quite the same so if yours show aggressive scouring of the discs early on ignore the bonding and pad material getting into the disc as I mention and in fact need less bedding in because they just use aggressive grip action on the discs to stop the car. Don't last very long but work the best at speed so if your pad/ disc combination shows that trait they should be better on tracks. Race pads can be thrown in and work straight away and don't need much bedding as a few brake tests is enough for the aggressive pad to cut heck into the discs.
My Brembos slow very mild cutting of the disc and are more reminiscent of 95% of road car discs I constantly look at. Very smooth cut and long lasting. My brakes wont work on track as well as some with a more aggressive cut.
So the cut marks on the disc after very few miles should indicate how they will work on both road or track,,, your looking for a fairly aggressive cut for track.
Different pads compounds are how we can effect this cut and interaction with the disc.
Keep a close eye on that cut and you'll have a good idea of how the brakes will work and for how long before they can't grip the disc, get hot soften your fluid, long pedal st brakes, crap day!
Get ahead now so your all set up as road pads if that's what you have take awhile to cut new discs evenly and get enough pad material embedded into the disc to work at hi speed.
You'll get what I got at Hehel, brake judder and that's naughty.
I'd be meditating before I went out in your car. calm baby
If you get off the previous corner before the bridge well I can see
150 mph all day long but you'll need to be fast off that corner. The pit staight might be a better test, up hill under load and exit speed of the final turn is slow and consistent.
Great fun. Want a track car again now,
The speedo is not accurate enough, telemetry is what you need. Brilliant stuff.
You can't be bloody looking at the speedo coming at a corner so fast it's stupid and I think dangerous so just enjoy it

I think iirc my 4lt used to be around 120mph on the back straight since then I have added about 80 hp but I think I would be lucky to add 5 mph to my speed at the end of the straight. I think it's a case diminishing returns, the same as drag racing you have to make major increases in horsepower to make quite small gains in terminal speed

Yep. That's actually the facts. It's the wind sapping extra power anyway so 80 hp feels like about 10ph increase in reality. It's still a lot faster though.
I drive Anthony's car with the 5.0 when it wasn't fuelling great up top and I'm do sure I clocked 125 before the bridge.
Yeah if he's controlling the power boost probably 10 mph max, he's a bit faster now I reckon after watching his classy performance at Curborough. Really nice work that day.

If you are coming along on to Snetterton you are welcome to try my car on the track, Alun.
I better get on the simulator then What a kind offer.
See how my new job goes first Anthony. I won't be taking time off anytime soon
id like to come just for the banter and cars.
I've been meaning to look closer at these really fast Ginetta cars. Drivers get out after 20 minutes drenched in sweat which always points to huge heart rate and that can only mean fast cornering.
I'd like to look at Nicks so this looks like a good day out.
Thanks Anthony
