Has anybody owned / driven a Zonda. What's the difference between the C12 and the C12S?

Time for a new car.

I might have read it wrong but an internet search states the c12 as 500 BHP and the C12s as 800 BHP.

Quite a difference, then.

yep 0 the 12S is more powerful but not 800bhp.
HAving said that the 'new' zonda out later this year (name escapes me - unveiled at detroit and an evolution of the 12S) is going to be significantly more powerful than the S if I remember right.

Awesome awesome cars. I only hope that they depreciate like XJ220s so I caa buy one before I go grey

Apart from the engine externally the rear lights are different along with other minor bits, the rear wing on the C12 was a single piece, on the C12S two piece. The new Zonda F again has visual revisions to the rear lights and changes back to a single piece rear wing.

Just realised that what I was reading before referred to a full racing spec 12S.

This may be of use: -

Gives you history and price guide - not sure how reliable it is but seems ok

Edit to say:

C12 - 6 litre - 0-60 4.2, top speed 190ish - 390hp

C12S - 7 litre - 0-60 3.7, 0-100 less than 8, 211 top speed - 550hp

according to their figures

Didn't Evo had an article recently about a Murc and a Zonda driving side by side? Zonda won hands down on all fronts. I think it's an ugly piece of kit apart from the Gatlong gun back which is porn. But from the driving point of view . . . it must be one of the closest things to heaven.
