Just picked this up the other day and so begins my V8 Vantage Project.

Reasons why this project: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

The aim here will be to bring a some bits up to date, make a few bits better and add some much needed visual drama... hopefully in a very tasteful manner.

There's a long 'to do' plan but first on the list will be either:

- Interior door trims

- Interior centre stack and stereo

or

- Engine bay dress kit.

I can't decide on which to tackle first so thought I would ask which people would like to see first..?

If the interior includes the metal arm rest that gets bashed by the seatbelt buckle then if like to see what someone does with that.

Ok, thats pretty convincingly the interior! and I agree not only can the arm rest get bashed but its a terrible arm rest! hard with angular edges, and whats the use of that 'pad'!? you dont want to put your arm on the thing!

Congrats - and looking forward to you showcasing your vision. Maybe I missed it in the thread but what year is your Vantage? It would be good to know what spec/ interior etc. you’re starting with.

Looks like my old one, except the wheels.
I know what you guys mean about the arm rests... carbon ones are available for half a gazillion pounds!

What year is yours and what do you intend to do with it?

Hi, its a 2006 17my with the later spec wheels, Bluetooth (man that's a pain to use.... shout at your car until it calls the wrong person! Lol)

I've a couple of jobs to get out the way this week but will be starting properly early next week with... the door cards I think. Gt8 style. Everything that will be done will also give a healthy weight loss, these cars are a little on the heavy side.

Been enjoying driving it a bit even in the terrible rain we've been having. Have to say though that on the b roads here (they are not good) my old mk4 r32 golf would be pushing this thing out the way... different storey on better more open roads I'm sure. Oh and learnt yesterday not to bother with multi storey car parks.... it was like a scene from topgear. Lol

I'm not bothered about the interior, let's see some engine bay bling, perferably including a turbo or three...

OK... been a while as had a big change of plan. Going to be doing something far bigger and more exciting with this. First job has been to 3D scan the car. next is to start removing all the panels , interior, wheels etc. The car and parts will be scanned as they come off to. So if you need any Vantage parts (no Mechanical or electrical...

Here's some images of the scanned exterior:
