body now off all the chassis stripped ready for repair and engine part way stripped headgasket has gone largly because someone has fitted a standard 3.5 gasket to the nck engine which has much larger bores but no damaged seems to have been done.

Ahh the old tinworm has been busy I see. For me, all replacement rotten bits will be stainless going forward.

I cannot recommend Elring gaskets too highly, but then you probably know about them already.

John they are on my 400SX, which is an NCK engine of similar capacity. You just need the 3.9L ones, and they are amazingly cheap, around £7 from 4x4 suppliers, where you can also get pushrods at a reasonable price.

Will watch this with great intrest.

Two things come straight to mind. 1. Love the space you have to work with.
2. The fact you have a fork lift on hand to lift the body. Fantastic!

chassis is away for shotblasting to see what we really have in the way of corrosion and the heads and crank are at my machinists for pressure testing and if needed a light skim and a grind as all the journals are badly scoured as all the load side shells are through to the copper backs.

Chassis looks really good. I know where to come when my outriggers eventually give up!
