Short term garden office idea?
Discussion
Apart from hiring a shipping container office, what options can people think of to have somewhere dry and warm to work from for 6 months while building work is going on iin the house, including the office
I thought about buying a used garden pod, then re-selling it again after.
Shipping container offices.
Caravan, although these are not ideal due to sofa/kitchen/bed etc in the way, and ugly.
Its for over winter, so insulated/heated is a must, but apart from that, im easy.
Any other ideas?

Ugly compared to a shipping container??I'd have thought a caravan makes most sense. Buy now at the end of the season and sell at the start.

I have to work from home as run a business from home too, and a newborn to help with
Plus I’m in the ass end of nowhere, office block wise at least
Why doesn't the company buy one of these garden office sheds as an asset, depreciate it over however many years the accounting policies allow for at the end of which it'd have zero value and be written off the books and all you have to do as the land owner where it's been cited is decide how best to "dispose of it" Plus I’m in the ass end of nowhere, office block wise at least

It gets really complicated as regards capital gains calculations on the main house in the future if you do that. You also run the risk of being on the radar for being assessed for business rates on the building. If you are VAT registered you can't even claim that back for similar reasons.
The amount you can claim for running costs is also very limited without attracting the wrong kind of attention.
If the governement was serious about tackling congestion / polution etc they would incentivise home working. As it is you have to run under the radar with minimal expenses so they don't screw you over.
