Anyone else going?

Or, more appropriately, anyone have any advice on the best places to spectate from as I've never been there before?

I'm going on the Sunday with my brother and a mate of his. They're using the International circuit layout for this meeting so I'd say that the hairpin down at Farm/Abbey would be a good place to watch, especially the touring cars.

The GT race is a 3 hour affair so you should have plenty of time to walk the whole circuit. Personally, I can't wait to see the new DB9 racers in action as well as the Maseratis.

Incidentally, is anyone else having trouble booking tickets online, or is it just me being a numpty? Keeps telling me my 'basket' is empty even though I've made my selections as instructed...

Maybe I'll just ring 'em on Monday...

I'll be there too, can't wait and it should be an excellent event
Besides it will be the closest that I can get to Le Mans this year

Moff with a couple of mates.

We were going to camp (like we did for the LMES which was ACE) but would have to go off site and the place sounded like it had too many rules (no singing Meatloaf at midnight that kinda thing).

Looking forward to seeing Rydell.

BUT I can't believe it £25 Sunday ticket in advance (£30 on the door)!!! I'm sure it was much cheaper as the ETCC?

I managed to book tickets online fine but decided to pick them up as you lose most of the discount with postage.

By eck, it is getting expensive.

C'MON RYDELL!!!!!!

Spot of Touring Car mayhem at Silverstone today. Garcia's BMW got spun around by Colciago's Accord and poor Rob Huff's Chevrolet Lacetti barrelled straight in. Oops!

Still, at least they wandered back through the crowd and signed a couple of autographs afterwards!

Yes wasnt it great.

Loved all three races, but left before the Ferrari race.

Did you see Tom Coronel's firey end? From Luffield 1, it looked like his exhaust fell off at the manifold- hot gasses quickly set fire to the car.

He got out alright, though.

There was a couple sat right next to us who were under a brolly (brown/dark red colour?) Bloke had a grey top on and his missus was wearing sort of flowery shoes and eating a Muller rice thing. Was that you guys?

I wen twith my brother, it was awesome, i havn't watched Touring cars since 95 when Tarquini was at Brands. Good to see the first race was just Red Alfa, Red Alfa, Red Alfa and Red Alfa, it looked fabulous. We had some Hospitality from Alfa Romeo, Thompson, Tarquini, Farfus and Giovanardi got up and talked us through, then went out and put on a fabulous display. Really loved the GT's too, nice and noisy, GET IN!!

We watched the first 360 Challenge race, sniffed up the smell of hot brakes and then cleared off after tht finished. Awesome, will defo go again!!!

And just in front of me I reckon.

I even wore my PH t-shirt but no-one said hello.

I've put a few more pics up here if anyone's interested.

Some good pics there.

Did you see at the end of the race what happened because of this:

www.egatesolutions.co.uk/photography/gt-wtcc/pages/2005-05-02-034.html

As they came round the same corner on the slowdown lap, Terting ran Jorg Muller off the road to show him how ever so miffed he was at being spun out earlier in the race!

I saw 2 blokes with PH t-shirts on walk along the front of the grandstand. I would have said hello but I was at the top of the stand and short of replicating the current Astra Sport ad, I don't think I'd have got down in time!

And yes, Centurion 07, I saw the Terting/Muller incident too! He'd make a good BTCC driver with that kind of petulance...
