What amazes me, having only started using Brave on Thursday, prior to that Chrome +no ad blocker, site has to gain revenue from somewhere, is that in two days, only used on PH, 1,400 blocked ads, 643 blocked trackers, and that is despite having all advertising preferences set to deny, at least according to PH website. Smells fishier than Grimsby fish docks.

That sounds odd, as I've been using Brave here for a few days now, and it only shows 9 blocked.
You sure you are not just looking at the stats for the current page? Thats showing 9 for me. 2200 trackers and 1400 adds blocked for me since Thursday, only using Brave for Pistonheads.
Incidentally the Advertising Preferences link appears to have disappeared and you now have to head off in various directions to set tracking optiins eg Google etc.
Despite everything still saying Haymarket this is something I've noticed with other UK sites, e.g. our local library has outsourced handling of digital data, e.g. books, magazines to a USA outfit. They seem to have a different approach to GDPR and from my perspective make it dellibeeately difficult, the only way you can stop that one is by a detailed email.

Key javascript culprits appear to originate from:
stats.g.doubleclick.net
sb.scorecardresearch.com (38 requests!)
images.outbrainimg.com
widgets.outbrain.com
Looking at the purpose of those I wonder whether this is some sort of measurement exercise as part of the sell-off.stats.g.doubleclick.net

images.outbrainimg.com
widgets.outbrain.com
Whatever, I've now moved to Brave for PH browsing, too, as the site has been so st it had become too clunky to use.
I would be a little wary of the Brave browser as their business model is to strip out the adverts dished up by the webpage and replace with their own adverts.
I understand the replacement ad bit is in beta testing at the moment and no doubt will appear in due course.
I am using the brave browser and will enjoy the ad free browsing while it lasts.

As many here have attested, we don't expect ad-free browsing. We expect sites that operate in a clean and efficient way, are not overly intrusive from a privacy perspective and which include ads which are relevant to the audience.I understand the replacement ad bit is in beta testing at the moment and no doubt will appear in due course.
