Hello All,

Had a look at two GT3's yesterday.

The first one (unfortunately) had a V8 rear spoiler and 18" wheels. Seemed in good shape, well looked after, only thing i noticed were some stone chips on the bonnet and wobbly seats! New clutch and cambelt at 20,000miles. 24,000 miles (will be serviced). Sold by SGT in Maidenhaed. Loads of receipts.

The second was private, sold to current owner by Paul Matty (New from SGT would you believe). Again, excellent bodywork, few scuffs on the doors and rear wings, but only slight. Standard car, goods brakes, tyres, never used in wet weather (and it looks it). Woblly seat mounts again, 28,000miles cam belt due at 32,000. On being taken out for a test drive i noticed a knocking, maybe an engine mount bush. Does anyone know of this problem. No receipts but FSH. Noticed the driver riding the clutch at the traffic lights. Passenger side foglight was a bit inset but mounted solid.

Apart from these points both car's seem straight. Nothing screamed out as being faulty. Am i missing something?

On some cars the bolts mounting the bulkheads can come loose and need re-tightening - the symptom is a clonk or knock as you go over a big bump in the road. easy to fix (just tighten the bolts).

A clutch on a GT3 will not react well to being 'ridden', and is expensive to replace, so you may want to get this checked out.
