Is this because they want a revised front end for the coupe version that we're expecting. I reckon that is part of their long term GT/Le Mans plans. Is it simply to get bigger lighting on the cars for night races or am I reading too much into this. Is it the new legislation that requires everyone to drive with their fog lights on?

Well, those body tubs must be for the motorshow - they would lay up new moulds, not chop an existing body, if this were just to be a revised shape Tamora. They will be lights, because the brakes don't need extra cooling, do they flasher?! I don't think there's any new lighting legislation coming in either, is there?

I am much more interested in seeing the back - if they've changed it significantly. If it is a hard top, and the back is different, and more integrated, I wonder if this will find it's way back onto the soft top?

I reckon that if they have revised the Tamora shape for a Motorshow FHC Tamora with a GT leaning then to keep the brand in line they will almost certaintly release a revised Tamora purely because with the exception of the roof they will be able to share a mould to build the FHC and soft top cars.

Again, completely speculative though as none of us (Gaffer aside) actually know what the score is.

It seems a bit soon for a facelift / redesign.

Maybe they are thinking of putting a V8 in it, so they had to fiddle about with it?

Absolutely. One of the reasons TVR weren't keen on letting Tuscan race cars into that GT Cup class was supposedly that they would be entering a Tamora/? themselves.

The picture is of a soft top.

It might be a Tamora S with the 4.0 390 bhp engine
from the Tuscan S. By changing some details on the
front of the car, it will be different from the Tamora
3.6.

But why?

That would put it both in price and spec in direct competition with the Tuscan S.

Everybody seems to suggest that TVR sales of the AJP6's is down due to customer perspective of reliability. So why hit those profits further by offering equivalent vehicles at different price points?

It would make more sense to produce a cheaper tamora, more track day orientated, with a lower bhp power plant to steal some of the elise/vx220/caterham/westfield market. Same handling/aerodynamics etc. This, due to shared components/body shell/chassis/components would be higher profit and if the engine is less stressed, better reliability.

Just my thoughts from a business rather than a passionate perspective.

OK, guys,

here is another thought

The Tuscan challenge will be replaced with the Tamora challenge. This make a very good sense marketingwise and , of course, to show the reliability of the Speed6 engine. Also I can remember have seen a stripped Tamora in the Motorsport section earlier this year.

So here we go again:

Motorshow cars:

1. production ready Tuscan R

2. new Tamora challenge car

3. Road legal version of the Challenge car

4. New race project for getting to LeMans

4. New 2 seater retro styled Coupe, referring to the older Grantura, Vixen, Tuscan, Griffith modells.

YUMMIE, I can't wait ....

I've heard, that TVR will have the biggest stand ever.

I think this is unlikely. Carlube have sponsored the series for another two years and trying to sell new cars to all the teams would reduce the grid dramatically. That and none of the teams have had any whiff of such news. There's plenty of other speculation in the pit lanes, but not that.

Why don't they change the tuscan challenge engines - aren't they rented to the teams anyway?

A few seasons of racing the speed 6 should sort its reliability.
