Made the mistake of letting the wife borrow the masser for a shopping trip at the weekend, she managed to break the key in half! Fortunately not in a lock or the ignition (as she went to great lengths to explain how "lucky" I had been).

I have a spare but assume that if I take the red key into the dealer they can make me another?

i believe so but there might be a wait. My replacement key had to come from italy & took a few weeks.

Make sure you don't loose the red-key and get a reciept from the garage if they need it to make a copy. Replacement can be a lot of money

Thanks - my theory is that using the key in the boot all the time has weakened it (rather than the remote in the glove box - which I tend not to bother with).

On another subject, finally got my ipod fitted, sits perfectly in the cubby box behind the handbreak - could almost have been designed by apple. Works well with the Becker head unit.
