94 vs 95 Reliability

As I shop and decide on an S4 or S4S one thing I've heard is that all 1995 models and newer are reliable. Previous models cannot be said the same for (including 1994). FACT or MYTH ??? This will much help me decide in selection. If anyone know specifically what the statement is talking about when they said 'reliability' your expertise is greatly appreciated.
