Hoping to go the FOS this year at goodwood, but can only go on the Friday. Only ever been on Sundays before, and just wondered what to expect.

Do most of the cars still do a run up the hill?

Not fussed about seeing the celebs, but would like to see the cars run, and would like to have a good look round them all.

Should be quieter though i suppose!

Any thoughts, Gadgit.

Most of the cars run on friday. F1s don't always, and rarely with the top drivers.

In the last few years friday has been quieter in terms of numbers, but same perception of how many people are around...i.e. lots.

I haven't been on the Sunday since 1999 - way too busy, so since then its been Saturday for me, but if this year is as busy as last then I guess Friday is looking like a good option although modern F1 cars may be a bit thin on the ground..

I prefer Fridays, it's much quieter and easier to get close to the cars in the paddocks. Also the traffic on arrival and leaving is much reduced (still a pain tho').

I went on Friday last year having gone on Sundays for the 2 years before that.

It was indeed a lot quieter but things like the plane displays (Red Arrows etc) were still on so it's not as if there's no "show".

The only thing that I found was a drawback was the runs up the hill were more infrequent and didn't run to time at all. A bit annoying if you wanted to see something specific.

If the crowds are starting to get to you though I would fully recommend it.
