XAL 1 on a shiny old E60 BMW.
A really nice plate, whispers Old Money. Lovely.
Only it was spaced as X ALI.
FFS.
Missed space or not..UK plates do not have a "1" in their format nor followed with a full stop....A really nice plate, whispers Old Money. Lovely.
Only it was spaced as X ALI.
FFS.
The poster used a full stop at the end of his sentence, not saying the plate had one on it.

Jesus wept - you can't win on this thread any more
Not sure why i'm bothering, but yes we all know a 1 is shown as I. It's fairly clear i typed the plate using the relevant numbers / letters to identify what the plate actially was and how it was spaced out using the black cap for a makeshift L. No doub't if i'd typed in I.0VE U using the letter I instead of the number 1, someone would've chimed in with "er, i think you'll find the letter I isn't used in that format / style of plate" in a nasal tone
I wish i'd just written LOVE U now to reflect how the plate was spaced with the black cap - although i'm sure someone would've come along and pointed out that also wouldn't be a legitimate plate in the UK either as it's all text
Go back a few years and the older versions of these threads used to be more about just posting the plates and having a chuckle over what the end result turned out as (bad, funny or just plain weird or stupid). Obviously not anymore. Not sure why i'm bothering, but yes we all know a 1 is shown as I. In 1988 I yellow taped over the bottom of my Dad’s ‘E’ to see what his car would look like on an F plate, and forgot I’d done it for a few days. The Moose said:

Why on earth would you want to do that? Surely it looks almost identical?AlexRS2782 said:
