I’ve owned a Canyon Spectral for the last five years and have been thinking about upgrading it to a newer model. As a regular browser of the Canyon website I was having difficulty ignoring the sale they’ve just had so did the decent thing and ordered a Spectral CF 8.0.
I’ve spent more time staring at it than riding it so far though. I was a bit concerned about the stealth paintwork when viewing it on the website but it’s stunning in the “flesh”.
It's a little less stealth now although the decals are removable so I can easily go back to full stealth in the future.I’ve spent more time staring at it than riding it so far though. I was a bit concerned about the stealth paintwork when viewing it on the website but it’s stunning in the “flesh”.

Nice job!!!
Did you buy the graphics as a kit or are they a one-off special?
I bought them from here https://nldesigns.eu/Did you buy the graphics as a kit or are they a one-off special?
He'll do any design you want and there are plenty of photos for inspiration on the website if you don't have anything in mind.

New bike day!
Clearance 2019 Trance 29 '1' - alloy frame, carbon wheels, Fox 34 & DPS Performance Elite, GX Eagle etc.
Self-reply... just been for first shakedown ride in 29° heat... sweat city!Clearance 2019 Trance 29 '1' - alloy frame, carbon wheels, Fox 34 & DPS Performance Elite, GX Eagle etc.
Loving the bike though, not only does it descend and jump more confidently than the Epic (as expected but quite noticeable even on easy trails) but it also goes around tight corners better, climbs more easily and accelerates faster! And only weighs about 200g more with equivalent tyres, which is insignificant compared to the extra pies carried by the rider.

New Venge.. early 40th present. Can’t believe I went ahead with big bike purchase. So much trouble picking the right bike. Just kept coming back to the Venge with everything considered.
Impressed so far. Need to up the training now to justify the bike.

Have started to get into cycling recently and bought a Whyte T130-C Works, over biked compared with my ability and fitness levels but got to start somewhere. Really wish I’d got into this years ago.
Have also ordered a road bike that should arrive in a few days - not the right time of year I know but hopefully won’t crash it!

More yellow bike content.
My SC Tallboy 3 CC. Owned it a couple of years now but still my favourite go-to bike. Also got a bigger travel 29er for daft stuff, but the Tallboy is almost all the bike I ever need. 130mm Pikes with 110 at the back. Enough travel to cover when ambition exceeds ability, but not too much to dull my local trails. Not the lightest build but I love love love this bike.

My new hardtail for winter / family ride duties...
Bought through the Cycle Scheme that work run. Swapped the the stem for a 40mm Chromag jobbie in my spares box, popped on some Truvativ cranks also from the spares box because they’re a load lighter than the SX ones it came with. Added some new Burgtec bars, saddle and composite pedals. Converted the tyres to tubeless too.
It’s a big old beast, despite being the same size in paper as my Transition, it feels like a much bigger bike to ride.

I've been spinning along on an aluminium Giant Defy for 4 years now, since I've never been seriously into road biking. In February I joined a local club and ratcheted up over 100 rides and about 4400km on the road this year. So, I convinced myself I was due a more focused road bike.
The new bike is 2nd hand, but in near-pristine condition, from an owner who has two nicer bikes. A 2016 Trek Emonda SL8, full Dura-Ace groupset, Mavic Ksyrium Elite SLS wheels. The saddle even has carbon rails. It's an XL 60cm frame, so weighing it at 6.8kg (without pedals) gave me a big smile. More than 2kg off the Giant, so hopefully I'll feel that difference...
Anyway, it is way too much bike for me, but I can't wait to point it up some steep hills!

Been looking for bit of retro to add to my collection of modern stuff. Always fancied a triple triangle GT and this little beauty came up locally.
Bar a few paint chips to the frame it was pretty much all stock and just needed a good degrease and clean up when I got it.
Have played about with a couple of more modern wheels I had in the shed to see what it looks\rides like in place of the Mavics fitted, put some fresh bar tape on and cleaned the saddle and it’s looking good (tyres and wheels will match eventually once I’ve decided which ones I’m putting on unless I stay with the originals)
