crossed over from the Esprit forum for a moment...
my buddy has a 2.5 944 lux and is concerned about the timing belt. 2 questions:
1)hasnt someone come out with a high mileage belt like they did on the Esprit? highly saturated nitrile?
2)on belt tension, does anyone have any correlation #s to the Krikket KR1?
thanks
chris

1. Dunno
2. I took mine off yesterday and the reading on the krikket was just over 30lbs. It should be 40lbs for a new belt and 37-38lbs for a used belt.

Mark

1) The belt lasts for about 40K miles, and is very easy to change- unlike (I would assume) a mid-engined car which would involve a lot of hours. I can get to mine in under 1 hour. The problem would also be the rollers and, on 16v cars the chain and tensioner between cams. You might get complacent with a 100K mile bambelt

2) No idea, sorry
