Vyse-

“How much do you guys typically spend on the first few dates with a girl. Do you tend to pickup all the bills during this period?

Am trying to gauge if my spending is excessive or not that much compared to others.”

I always pay for the first few dates - but on reflection the girls who’ve been the nicest/most compatible have always either offered to split it or have made me agree they can buy the drinks after. I’m quite sure some girls see dating as a free lunch.

The girl I’m seeing now asked me to book an expensive French seafood restaurant - when the bill came she pulled her card out and said she wanted to pay, I still did, but it was a good sign.

Not necessarily. There are plenty of crafty feckers that know how to play the game.

The girl am currently seeing has offered a couple of times to pay but I declined the offer. Whether she has intend to go through with paying I don't know but I guess offering is better than silence.

I think that's me now. The shame of it.

Sooner my immune system sorts out this bug the sooner I can get back to being deluded. wink

For the most recent example with a girl I saw a handful of times

Date 1: Drinks in a bar
I bought 1st round, she bought 2nd round. £12 each I guess

Date 2: Restaurant (with 1 drink in pub before)
She bought the drinks in the pub (under a tenner)
I paid for restaurant. £90 all in with service charge and a tip direct to the waitress
I preface this with the fact it was ME who asked her out. She offered to pay something. I told her I asked her out, it was my shout. She said she didn't want me to think "I was buying something" I told her "I wasn't expecting anything as I going home after this, I have work in the morning" laugh

Date 3 Bistro meal. She asked. She paid (£60 plus service IIRC)

Date 4. Invited me over to cook for me. I took wine, chocs and something for her pets biggrin £20ish for me. Probably £10-15 her costs.

Other factors stopped us going much further. So no idea how it would have progressed in this case. But it struck me as pretty equal. So I wasn't worried about inbalance

I've had a few dates with girls over the years where you can tell they expect more. I tend to screen them out asap. Fine if I was a millionaire and they were a Uni student. But Im not. And when you both have mortgages and reasonable paying jobs, I expect there to be equality indicated early on.

Same girl, 4 dates smile

(Oh, I forgot we went to the cinema as well. I bought tickets, £30ish she bought the popcorn and drink. Dunno tenner maybe)

Yes, I have her number, but I haven't contacted her since she text me! rolleyes to say decided she didn't want to see me anymore. I deleted her from all my social media so have no idea if she's seeing anyone currently. Still want the number? laugh
