I am currently in the process of having an immaculate 1997(R) 993 C4S put through a Porsche inspection, prior to commiting to purchase from a non Porsche dealer.
The car has done 69000 fully documented miles, full Porsche main dealer service history, lots of receipts, new clutch at 48000, new brakes all round and service at 65000, 2 owners and the car looks and drives like new, and the Air Con works

All previous MOT's, tax discs etc with history to give the feel of an enthusiastic previous owner.

What is my problem you ask ??

I see other cars in the same price bracket at 55000 miles or less but maybe not so well looked after or not as complete a history, e.g. 2 year gaps or 15000 between a service, or not main dealer.(probably not a problem on the last point)

Do you think that the residual value in 2-3 years time will matter much if the car has say 85000 as opposed to 75000 miles assuming I keep it immaculate and well serviced.

Is it being paranoid to be over fussy with the history as I have this factor along with the overall condition as my top priority as opposed to colour or lower miles.

By the way the car is Mettalic Black with Black leather interior, and all usual 4S bells and whistles.

I just need some re-assurance here before parting with my wad and living my dream.....just don't want the dream to be a nightmare.

Pile in with the comments guys as I need reassured that this is the one.

Much appreciate the helpfulness of this forum

I don't think an additional 10K miles on the clock for a 10 year old car would outweigh the overall excellent condition and the complete service history. It wouldn't for me anyway. All IMO of course.

what he said

condition would mean more than an extra 10k miles for most i think.

totally agree - condition over mileage always wins.

Surprised that Henry F has not been on yet
