Is there such a thing ? Given that AML where under Ford I’m sure there’s commonality of many parts used on the V8V, V8R and DB9.

For starters, I know the thermostat is a Jag part on the Vantage, but not sure on the part nr.

Cheers

Door mirrors = Volvo
Indicator stalk (perhaps wipers too) = Ford Fiesta
Sat. Nav. = Volvo
Reservoir - power steering = probably lowest price at a Vauxhall dealer.

Tyre inflation canister = Volvo. Volvo part No is 31200556 for the 560ml latex fluid that fits into the early V8V tyre repair kits (Australia but should apply worldwide)
Stereo parts (base level) are also ex Volvo I believe

I am sure the starter motor and the AC compressor are generic Jaguar Land Rover parts

I also noticed that the brake pads are identical to VW Audi brembo parts e.g. MDB2829 Front Brake Pads

Spark plugs are very very cheap from the USA using the code BKR7EIX11

There are lots of aftermarket wheel bearings made by Comline for a fraction of the OEM price

Xenon bulbs are standard D1S which cost peanuts

I cannot find any aftermarket shock absorbers and they seem really expensive. Not sure how long they hold up

V8 Vantage pollen filter is a Mazda Part AND you can get the charcoal-actified version, cheap, cheap!
I change mine every year, not because I need to but at £15 all in, why not?

Are these pads that people use normally - there seems to be a massive variation in pad costs - I'm pricing up to do the discs and pads all round - currently at £242 for a set of discs and just want standard road pads . Local ind will fit for £100

So good quality standard pads part numbers ?

I was under the impression that the brake pads are pagid, not brembo. The callipers and discs are brembos, but not the pads themselves.

Stereo is definitely a Volvo (s80) part. The Volvo aftermarket bluetooth audio kit works a treat!!

Mintex is a good brand and you can find really good bargains like this one
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MDB2829-Front-Brake-Pad...

Delphi also make good pads:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Delphi-Front-Brake-Pad-...

However, Mintex may glaze in hard braking like tracking but this is only in extreme conditions

As for the pads, you can buy original brembos for around 160 quid, see the following topic

IIRC, front pads for 2007 Vantage are RR Sport front (Brembo caliper), rear pads are Seat Leon Cupra front ( but you will have to do without the wear sensor, or cut/file a suitable slot in the backplate), and handbrake pads are Jaguar S type.

Anyone know the part number for the (Volvo) NS door mirror motor? Mine has just stopped working - when I move with the adjustment knob on the door there are lots of loud clicks from inside the mirror housing. The mirror jumps around and tries to move, but seems stuck in one position.

Whilst I’m pleased for this threads existence, seeing some prices already quoted makes me feel sick with what I’ve paid in the past.

Is this true for 4.3 and 4.7 V8V? I like the look of the aftermarket kit (discussed in another thread) but can't seem to get an answer as to whether or not it will work with 4.7
