Silverstone Britcar 24hr Willhire Race
September 8th/11th 2005
Hawthorns Motorsport and their Preparation team Moore Racing

Announce important news !!!!!!

Part subsidized drives available, 30% of all costs now being paid by Hawthorns Motorsport’s main sponsors

Seat costs now reduced from £8995 to £6295

Hawthorns Motorsport ran a Z3M Coupe GT3 car in the 2005 British GT series from the beginning of the race season until June 2005 when due to the prospect of having to spend many thousands of pounds to make the car a GT3 contender, we chose the alternative, and we think more sensible option of transferring the team to the less financially demanding EERC. Britcar series where they operate a much fairer race car classification system.

The cars origins are in 6/12/24hr endurance racing, and it seems quite natural to be moving to Britcar as the racing class classifications are far fairer to competitors that have sensible or limited budgets. The team is also entering the car in the Britcar 24hr Willhire Race, for having successfully entered and completed the 2002 Nurburg 24hrs, the 2002 Bathhust and the 2003 Bathurst 24hrs, the car is well suited to the task in hand.

The team is fully supported by it’s preparation team partners, Moore Racing and with their help and advice the car will be fully prepared for the event and as the preparation team have years of expertise in endurance racing, we are expecting a high level of reliability and therefore a fantastic value for money racing experience for the drivers involved.

There are two seats available in addition to the cars two regular drivers, making four in all and these seats will be offered subject to status, to those who are interested in buying the drive, have the necessary skill levels and the budget together with physical fitness to support 6 hours of racing each plus testing and qualifying.

The budget required is an all inclusive figure bar insurance, but is subject to VAT at the standard rate.

An accident damage Deposit payment of £2500.00 is payable in advance and will be held against any damaged caused by the individual driver, these payments are fully re-fundable in the event that the driver has no accident damage claims. We will require all drivers to sign a full indemnity document with personal guarantees or in combination/instead of, supply an insurance cover policy/letter to cover up to the full cost of totally re-building the car estimated at £35,000-00 sterling. As mentioned above the insurance can have an excess of £2500-00. A Group policy can also be arranged if all drivers agree, this could also be a cheaper option.

Neither Hawthorns Motorsport or Moore Racing can be held responsible for any failures effecting the cars ability to compete, everything possible will be done to ensure that the car is fully operational but terminal failure of major components or accident damage inflicted that is beyond repair will not be accepted in any way as a reason to return part or the whole of a drivers race fee. Race fees are therefore non-refundable.
