Hi Den

no problem with the tickets... how did you get on Sunday?

Good to meet you and talk about the old sprinting days, amazing how much fun you can have on an old air-field!!

When are you next out with the mini?

Hi Andy! (It's the loony with the flag here ).

What was up with the motor? It was all looking quite fun between you, Steve and the Caterham for a while.

Hey Nige

It was great fun - shame that i ... ran ......... out ...........of ...............petrol!!!!!!!

I know, schoolboy error!

We've got a 60 litre tank and its the first time its been run down to a low level. Turns out we need a minimum 15 litre float to ensure that the pick up works OK.

Went out with 30 litres which in reality turned out to only be 15 - hence one struggling Tuscan.

Good job it did run out though - last lap as i spluttered up to paddock hill - the brake pedal went to the floor!!

Turned out we'd got a seized rear calliper piston which allowed the other piston to pull out and break its seal.

Got back to pits to be greeted a crowd of interested friends and a small fire on the rear wheel as the brake fluid caught fire on the rear disk.

Never mind, all good fun and the car will soon back ready to go again

Andy, yep.. great days sprinting .. real grass roots stuff

King of Lydden Hill no less in 2001 ;-)
(13 wins in a row)

Sunday was fun.. 2 races, the first of which I got stuck towards the back of the field..
Had a fair bit of close (too close) racing, which resulted in me losing a headlight,a dented wing
and a breathtaking trip through the Paddock Hill
gravel trap !

Started towards the back in the second race..
however got a flyer of a start and worked my way up the pack to 5th .. my best finish yet in the Minis.

Very exciting racing...
