Did anyone see TopGear last night?

I am referring to the part where they tested the F430 (both coupe and spyder), and its a very nice car indeed. I was quite interested to hear that the Ferrari test-driver stated that the F430 is slower than it could be because it runs on Bridgestones instead of Pirellis (as was on the 360).

My questions are therefore:
a) Why do they use Bridgestone instead of Pirelli
b) Has anyone here swapped back?

Answer to (a) - 'cos I bet they get a wicked deal from Bridgestone via their F1 connection....

yep, and if the car came with BS tyres then come the time when it needs more shoes, most owners will buy exactly the same.

They never said what sort of pirellis the 360 was on. I would imagine a set of P0 Corsas would outgrip an S03.

You need to compare apples.

Bridgestone S01s are, in my opinion, on a 355 very marginally better than standard PZeros.

But would probably be demolished by PZero Corsas.

Then again, they probably wear faster and aren't as good in the wet too (the Pirellis).

Feel a bit sorry for Bridgestone as that loose comment taken out of context could be quite damaging.

Good point. I know TopGear is more of a family program but it would have been easy to state the model code of each tyre.
