Just bought 98 996 cab. The car is in its original form. The question is what alterations if any should I make cosmetically.

clear lenses
18' wheels instead of 17'
exhaust
etc

I would appreciate help on contacts for mods.

You're welcome.

I just noticed that you've gone down the same route as me car-wise. 3200->996! Good choice.

First thing I did to my 1998 C2 was clear front & rear lenses.
Then I added carrera alloys. Both these freshened up the look of the car no end.

If you have a deep pocket then you can get a the later (2001 onwards) front end fitted (new bumper/wings, lights. Jasmine Motorsport along with a couple others can do this for you.

You could add an Aerokit to make it look like a GT3, though the ride height would give the game away !

When I dropped off my turbo for a service yesterday there was a chap dropping off his 996 cab. He had a fixed rear wing fitted, different exhaust tips (the ones usually fitted to the turbo, kinda twin pipes pushed together) & it looked a little like he was trying too hard. I love the clean lines of the 993/996/997 etc - while I love my turbo's performance, I love the looks of the C4S more, much cleaner without that spoiler or scoops. !

dd - my 996 C2 came with the GT3 kit fitted from the factory and fortunately was lowered aswell. So if you choose the GT3 route lowering def. a good idea. Agree with the 18" wheels too. Aside from that i have added a fabspeed exhaust from design911 aswell.

Have thought abt the clear lense option, but kinda like the yellow against the black of the car. All things considered its still cheaper to run and makes me happier than my ex gf....
