PPI recommendations - 993

Looking for a 993 now. Given most cars will typically come up well away from home is there any sort of forum list available re 'recognised/good' PPI agents available that would enable me to pin point a more local agent to do the ppi. Or is this just a matter of asking the forum as an when a specific car/area comes up? So far I seem to see the same few names come up but I cannot believe these guys cover all this business?
Also given I am a 911 virgin I am inclined to belt and braces re inspection/checking of any car that I am considering forming a long term and loving relationship with!
Over and above a ppi - and I assume these can vary very significantly re usefulness - what else would a cautious buyer consisder: compression tests, OPC check aswell, owner lie detector test, more than this… obviously this all has a price but was interested in what the typical spread is re checks?

Vince, I'm not aware of any DVD or video covering purchase of 911's or 993's in particular. However, Adrian Crawford, a well known High Performance car Specialist who lives in Saltash, Cornwall has an excellent website covering your desired subject.Have a look at www.performance2and4.co.uk
At the end of the day I would urge you NOT to buy on your own inspection, but rather pay an OPC or well known independent to do the job for you.
