irvine in F1

had a very interesting chat with an ex-f1 high flyer. (probably shouldnt mention any names despite not wanting to seem overtly 'james bond' like)

it seems that mr edmond irvine has employed the help of gary anderson to help him 'buy' either jordon OR minardi.. thought the snippet might be of interest. thats all for now. i wonder if this is the only way eddie can get a drive... ;)

The Minardi rumour is one that isn't as well known as the Jordan one - or at least to my knowledge hasn't been aired on ITV F1 (or did I miss something???). I heard that Irvine had been to Faenza recently and Anderson is certainly the man to speak to about Jordan's prospects. I also understand that Jordan has some very convoluted financial arrangements that have been an obstacle to Irvine's (low attention span) Russian sponsor.

But eddie is definately trying to buy A team. little johnny herbert has just been given a job at jordan, so the russians dont seem to be quiting just yet. maybe stoddy will sell and have moseley assasinated for his job. worse things have happened at sea

All I can say about the Herbert thing is that I hope he's being paid in cash and it's not Rubels.

Paul Stodart (Minardi boss) has said in an interview that he is willing to sell Minardi to a person who could garuntee the job security of his staff and improve the teams performance. Apparently he is wanting to sell to a manufacturer for those reasons. He confirmed that Irvine is looking at buying a team, including Minardi, using a Russian backer for monies.
