Another daft question -355 clutch

How did you know if your clutch is on it's way out?

I've only had mine since Feb, not sure if it's all in my head but I'm sure it's slipping sometimes...

Was driving (home from Football) last night and thought something was wrong so both windows down, tried flooring it from low speeds in 4th, 5th and 6th and it seemed fine. However driving to football I'm sure I heard a 'whirring' noise when I did the same.

PS Anyone (on here) at Goals Alperton with the lovely 360 who was good enough to park next to me last night? :wavey:

Jason a best way of testing is to go at a low speed, say 20mph and put it into 4th gear and press the pedel right down and see if the engine reves higher than it normaly would. if the clutch is slipping it will rev like with out you moving any faster.

One indication can be the SD2 clutch wear reading, but I don't know how accurate it is.
I'd expect terminal wear to translate into clutch slippage, in which case I am not sure I understand the test procedure described above.
To me the highest risk of slippage should be under maximum torque i.e. go up to 5000 rpm in any gear then floor the throttle and listen if you hear any bump in revs.

Mine has 45000km and is still doing fine (SD2 reading was 52% at 39000km). And it's an F1 ...
