Is it possible to change the instrument colour of the dials on the dash? Mine are boring black with the black plastic rims. I rather fancy some white ones with aluminium rims. If it is poss is it something I could do myself or would it be a big job??

Costs around £1300 to buy replacements instruments. Possible less from a scrappy. Fitting is easy but and this a big but, you may find that the colkoured ones are not compatible with the black ones. In this case getting somone like Speedy Cables to convert them would be the next course of action.

Anybody thought of taking them out and spraying them? You could use Letraset for the numbers etc. afterwards.

Must be a LOT cheaper. And probably take a LOT longer!

Just a thought tho'..............

Mine are black with ali rims and look fantastic with an all black interior. I would imagine just changing the rims would make quite a difference, especially if you've got aluminium switchgear and column stalks as well, and cost-wise it must be the best compromise. Its the plasticy bits that let it down.

Mine had black rims, all you have to do is paint strip them and then polish for luvly shiny ones. I was told the later silver rimmed ones were not compatible with the earlier blak ones, electrics wise.

Did them in situ very carefully wiping off any Nitromors that got on the dash with a wet rag and masking off as much as possible. Not difficult just time consuming, Polish after with Autosol.
Cheers Al.

I have just had all of the black bezels changed for chrome ones on my S2 (7 gauges including speedo and tacho) by Speedy Cables and it cost me £105 including P&P. They also do them in alluminium.
