well i have just had my starter motor replaced by an independant ,but by christ they had a job with the car alarms that had been fitted .the car has been fine when i took the starter out originaly and refitted it then connect up the battery and all hell breaks loose as i try to reset the alarm but usually get it right in the end ,but the garage that tried to do the job gave up when they found that the car had two alarms fitted ,the factory one and a sigma alarm ,they disabled the factory alarm and got the other one working only to find that the central locking don't work at all now and there is no way of getting it to work without fitting a new one so i will have to investigate and do it myself .does anyone know how to get the central locking working through the alarm i have no problem with electrics or mechanicals as o work on a multi million pound aircraft as an engineer

Not had the same problem as you but I agree the wiring does seem that it was installed by a pre-YTS 12 year ....Noooo a BLIND pre-YTS 10 year old I'm now of the opinion it's best left well alone unless it's absolutely necessary.

I'll second that, when I had to access behind my dash it was a joke, the wiring and central locking and alarm units were just free to move around, not fixed to anything. Little areas like this TVR could really improve on to increase the quality of their cars.

well got the car back today and it all seems to work ok but i had to tidy things up a bit as there was dirty marks all over the seats and old bits of wiring left everywhere took me hours to clean it up and get it back to looking decent again ,still i wont have any starter probs again for a few years ,but now i find as the weather is getting colder the engine is running too cold and the heater dont get hot at motorway speeds so i will have to change the thermostat ,and yes it is up for sale as work is getting a bit slack(no overtime to pay for my toy ) and i want a really good rover sd1 vitesse to play with.
