GT's at Silverstone in August - Pictures

Sorry but the AM just doesn't look right (or very good) in blue. Their performance during the wettest periods was also very poor, anyone know why??
The weather really did spoil the LMES race, turning into a bit of a lottery over the first 4 hours of which about 2 hours seemed to be behind the safety car.
Disappointing for LNT who looked quick over the opening laps, Patrick Pearce's effort was awesome considering he didn't have a windscreen wiper. He even managed to keep Jonny Kane behind him and he's no dummy in the wet. Thanks too to Laurence and the team for their splendid hospitality!!
Well done to the Peninsula guys too, they seem to be picking up the pace nicely as the season progresses.
Only down side was the Silverstone organisers for keeping the stands at Copse closed all day Friday and Saturday. It's the best place to watch the start and because the main grandstand was pretty full (because of the torrential rain), those of us us fit enough to climb over the gate at Copse C, managed to watch in relative dryness.
I wonder how many older or less agile folk were precluded from a decent, dry view of the start of the best UK GT race on the British calendar??
It simply mystifies me why our sport is run by such incompetent thoughtless w4nkers!

Some of the more enterprising people there manged to get the bits of fencing away from the steps to most of the stands late on saturday and Sunday, so we could enjoy the rest of the racing in relative comfort! I was one of those unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

...and on Sunday too! It's ridiculous that they couldn't open up just one of the grandstands, especially with the weather as it was.

Great photos shadytree. Typical of the weather that once back home in Yorkshire the sun was shining, good racing though, looking forward to next year.
Fantastic pictures all. I wish I could take some of that quality.
I felt that the racibf was good on both days and the rain added a bit of drama even if the 1000km was blighted somewhat by the safety car periods. I'm sure that the safety of the drivers was considered and the right decisions made.

Mine are the first 14, slightly out of focus, I bet her holiday snaps are even worse, ones. But hey, I tried
Its a new camera, my first digital, it was overcast <insert various excuses>
And I was never barged but there again I'm pretty well trained and the art of barging myself...a mispent youth of rock concerts!
I have got some podium shots too lurking somewhere....

I use the 'PHers favourite', a Nikon D70 with a Nikon 70-300 f4/5.6 zoom. Got it in May this year and I am absolutely loving it! Great pitlane shots BTW. Good to see a different aspect as opposed to on-track pics all the time.
And just as you thought my shots couldn't get worse...here some others though I think the last one of the podium is rather arty, of course that's how I planned it all along

Wow! They are so sharp, absolutely stunning! Love the Courage at dusk down at Club and also the rear shot of the black Ferrari. Top stuff.
